Camp Nou, the hallowed ground that has witnessed countless football legends and exhilarating match moments, is currently undergoing an ambitious transformation that promises to take the fan experience to new heights.
The Camp Nou renovation project aims to preserve the stadium’s historic legacy while embracing modern technology and design.
To accommodate the growing demand for matchday tickets, an extensive expansion plan is underway. The stadium’s capacity will be increased to over 105,000, ensuring more fans can immerse themselves in the electrifying atmosphere of Camp Nou.
The architects behind Camp Nou’s new design understand the significance of preserving the stadium’s storied heritage. While incorporating modern features, they have ensured that the essence of the original structure remains intact.
But when will the new stadium open?
Institutional vice-president Elena Fort spoke at the Ordinary General Assembly this Saturday, giving an hindsight on the timeline.
“In November 2024 we will return to Spotify Camp Nou with an approximate capacity of 65,000 spectators between the first and second tiers, with 50% of the VIP capacity and the definitive museum open. The bulk of all the work will be carried out in 2024, including the core main structure and the roof.”
Spotify Camp Nou is scheduled to be fully completed in 2026.
