Now it is definitely established that Barca will sign Vitor Roque already when the January transfer window opens. Sporting director Deco confirmed this in connection with Barca’s match against Atlético Madrid yesterday.
On Sunday, Athletico Paranaense announced that Vitor Roque was facing his last home game with the team, which was a clear indication of an imminent move to Barca. Yesterday, Deco was asked to comment on the announcement from the Brazilian club.
“After Gavi’s injury, we have decided with Xavi that the player must come in January” was the clear answer and thus it is certain that the 18-year-old striker will soon arrive in the Catalan capital.
Barca is thus taking advantage of the opportunity given by Gavi’s long-term injury to collect compensation, with no other regard for the financial fair play rules than that the salary must be a maximum of 80% of Gavis’.
“Roque will be like everyone else in the squad. He will get minutes and will help the team. The good thing is that he gets Lewandowski he can learn from,” continued Deco about the team’s new striker.
“He moves well between the lines, finds the free spaces and is dangerous to score” concluded Barca’s sporting director.
