Barca have made no secret of their desire to sign João Félix on a permanent contract this summer. However, the Catalans find it difficult to meet Atlético’s price, and it is now rumored that they will offer a maximum of 40 million euro.
João Félix has managed to rediscover the joy of playing at Barca, since the summer transfer from Atlético Madrid this summer. The Portuguese has secured the team points on several occasions, and the management is therefore working hard to make his loan switch permanent for next season.
The winger also hopes to be allowed to stay in Catalonia himself, which he allegedly also told his agent, Jorge Mendes. The big question, however, is whether Barca can afford to buy João Félix, for whom Atlético Madrid reportedly demand 75 million euros for.
It is something above the amount that Barca, according to the newspaper Mundo Deportivo, intends to offer. The Catalans are reportedly only ready to offer somewhere between 30-40 million euros for the Portuguese, and although it is somewhat below the requirements of the Madrilenians, the management should be quite confident.
This is because Atlético do not want the national team player back in the team, and the winger does not intend to accept offers from Saudi Arabia, who are the only ones who can match the price requirement. But should Barca end up having their offer rejected, the management has no intention of giving up.
The Catalans will instead try to loan João Félix for another season, albeit with an included purchase option this time. However, the whole switch ultimately depends on how the season ends and what the salary structure will look like, and whether it even makes financial sense for Barca to sign the Portuguese.
