Bayern Munich has recently been reported to be strongly interested in Ronald Araújo. However, the Germans are aware that it will be difficult to get the Uruguayan and therefore they are reportedly ready to break their own transfer record.

Speculation has increased over the past few days, with Bayern’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, also confirming the other day that Araújo has been talked about as a possible reinforcement. The Barca captain is said to be a player of choice for Thomas Tuchel, who has had major defensive problems this season.

The head coach should therefore have called the defender last week to declare his interest and talk in detail about the football project at Bayern. However, the Uruguayan reportedly has no desire to leave Barca, with whom he has a great love affair.

However, the Germans have always been aware that it will be difficult to get Araújo to leave Catalonia. Bayern should therefore, according to the newspaper Sport, be ready to break their own transfer record to get the centre-back, who can also look forward to having his salary doubled if he were to say yes.

Bayern set a German transfer record this summer when they signed Harry Kane from Tottenham for 95 million. Euro. And if the rumors are true, Barca can look forward to getting a bid of more than 100 million. euros, which, seen in the light of the economic situation, can create an internal debate among the management.

However, the Catalans currently have no intention of selling Araújo, and instead are reportedly working to extend his current contract, which however only expires in 2026. The Uruguayan also seems fully committed to the team, and therefore it would be a big surprise if he would end up leaving Barca.
