In connection with this year’s traditional Christmas gathering with players, staff and management, president Joan Laporta opened with a short speech, where he asked everyone in the club to stand together and support each other.
From a purely sporting point of view, the time is not immediately right for a party, but nevertheless Christmas is just around the corner, and in Barca the players and everyone else around the team used the opportunity to remove the focus from the poor results of recent days.
The session was opened by Joan Laporta, who emphasized that the team is still in four tournaments and that they therefore still have the opportunity to win four titles this season.
“Despite the recent sporting disappointments, which by the way are part of the world of sport, we must not give up hope as long as every single day we feel proud to represent the best club in the world”, began Laporta.
“We will fight in all four competitions, the league, the Copa del Rey, the Champions League and the Super Cup, and I ask you to show your support – now more than ever before – to the players and to our coach so that we can help them back on the way to victory. Together we can do it”, the Barca president continued.
“Our unity is also a joint task that applies to all our sports activities, the women’s team, basketball, handball, hockey and futsal”, concluded Joan Laporta.
