There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Robert Lewandowski, who has not lived up to expectations this season. However, the star striker’s agent, Pina Zahavi, stressed on Tuesday that the Pole is not going anywhere.
Barca have had a particularly difficult autumn, which, despite an excellent start, means that the team is nine points behind Girona in La Liga. The Catalans have delivered far below par at both ends of the pitch, and especially in attack, which has often looked toothless and lacks a lot of creativity.
The performance has been symbolized by Robert Lewandowski, who, unlike last season, has had difficulty getting the goalscoring going. Several media outlets have therefore speculated on a sale this summer, mainly to Saudi Arabia, who have often expressed their interest in the Polish national team star.
The speculation is mainly also due to the fact that Barca cannot afford to have a high-paid player walking who continuously underperforms. But the 35-year-old Lewandowski is not going anywhere, at least not if it is up to Pina Zahavi, who represents the former Bayern player.
The agent spoke on Tuesday in connection with a meeting with President Laporta, where he said the following:
“Lewandowski’s future? Of course he stays at Barca”.
Zahavi thus put all the rumors to rest, and Xavi should also continue to have faith in the Pole, who is the team’s top scorer.
Lewandowski will also be needed, who will be tasked with taking Vitor Roque under his wing when he arrives at the turn of the year. And hopefully Barca managed to get the game going at the start of next year, which will certainly also ease the pressure on the Pole’s shoulders.
