Barca ended the autumn season with a trip to the USA to play a friendly match against Mexican Club América, and subsequently the team had a good Christmas break. Already here in January, however, a hectic program awaits immediately.
Barca open the La Liga program again tomorrow against Las Palmas, where the squad will travel to Gran Canaria for the away game. Three days later, Barca will be in action on Sunday in the 1/16 final of the Copa del Rey away to UD Barbastro from the fourth best tier in Spanish football.
Four days later, on January 11, Barca will play the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup against Osasuna. The Spanish Super Cup is held in Saudi Arabia, and Barca’s semi-final will be played at the Al Awwal Stadium in Riyadh. If Barca wins against Osasuna, the final must be played against either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid on Sunday 14 January.
After this, Barca will have to play the round of 16 in the Copa del Rey, if of course they manage to get the expedient UD Barbastro out of the tournament. They then face Real Betis away on January 21, while the month ends with two home games in three days against Villareal on January 28 and Osasuna on January 31.
It therefore applies to Xavi and the players to concentrate to get a good start on all the tournaments in 2024.
