An analysis of the Barca players’ market value shows that the players’ value from their respective debuts until today has increased by 369 million euros, which can primarily be attributed to the young academy players.
If you delve into the statistics of the individual players on the renowned football portal Transfermarkt and look at the total market value of the players since their debut in the Barca shirt, the conclusion is that the value of the squad has increased by 74.95%. The current value of the squad is 862 million euros, and if you took the same players and looked at their respective market value before their debut, the total value would be just over 492 million euros, and thus the increase is 369 million, i.e. almost 75%.
The academy players in particular have contributed to the explosive growth, as most of them had no market value when they made their debut in Barca’s first team. Thus, Gavi’s value has increased from 0 to 90 million euros, Lamine Yamal from 0 to 50 million, and Fermín López, who was however valued at 300,000. is today estimated to have a value of 8 million euros.
In addition, Pedri and Ronald Araújo have increased significantly in value as the midfielder has gone from 7.2 million, when he arrived at Barca, to today have a value of 100 million euros, while the defender from Uruguay has increased by 68 million, so that today he is estimated to have a total value of 70 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Marc-André ter Stegen and Raphinha have both increased in value by 15 million euros from their arrival, and are thus worth 35 and 60 million respectively. On the negative side of the equation, the newspaper reports that Iñaki Peña has dropped from 4.2 to 4 million. euros, while Iñigo Martínez has fallen from 20 to 8 million euros. Marcos Alonso has gone from 12 to 3 million, Ferran Torres from 45 to 35 and Lewandowski from 45 to 30 million. Overall, the total decrease amounts to just over 35 million. euros, while fortunately the increase is a whopping 405 million.
