Just 16-year-old Lamine Yamal continued his distinguished start to the Spanish national team on Thursday evening when he got on the scoreboard in the Spaniards’ 3-1 victory over Cyprus. The Barca striker scored the first goal of the match.
Lamine Yamal started inside the Spanish attack in Thursday’s European Championship qualifying match away to Cyprus and here the young Barca player only needed five minutes to score. Yamal received the ball at the back post, where he coolly went past the goalkeeper and then cheated the defense with a feint before sending the ball into the goal.
It was Lamine Yamal’s second goal for the Spanish A national team in just his third game. As you know, the Barca striker scored in his national team debut against Georgia and overall, over the three matches, it has turned into 112 minutes of playing time, which has resulted in two goals.
Gavi also started inside for Spain in Thursday’s away match against Cyprus, while Ferran Torres was replaced after 73 minutes. Spain now lead the qualifying group with 18 points, two more than Scotland in second place.
