As you know, Ter Stegen has suffered with back problems recently and on Friday Barca could announce that the German goalkeeper has undergone surgery. The Barca keeper is expected to be out for 2-3 months.
It is a lower back injury which has kept Ter Stegen out for a while and which has prevented him from guarding the goal for Barca. The Catalans chose to start by biding their time and hoping for a recovery, but it soon became clear that an operation was necessary.
In a press release on Friday, Barca writes that Ter Stegen was operated on today at the Sports Clinic Bordeaux Merignac in France. In addition, the club announces that the operation was a success, but they do not come up with an estimate for when Ter Stegen will be back again.
According to local media, Ter Stegen is expected to be out for 2-3 months, but Barca’s medical staff should be convinced that the German can be ready again in February, when Barca will play in the round of 16 in the Champions League.
