Just as Ansu Fati was finding his rhythm during his loan spell in Brighton, England, he suffered a thigh injury. Yesterday, his coach confirmed that the Barca striker may not return to action for another three months.
Fati had a somewhat hesitant start at Brighton, where he clearly needed to get used to the Premier League, but as the autumn progressed he got better and better. Two weeks ago he suffered a thigh injury and the prospects for a quick return were slim.
Yesterday his coach Roberto de Zerbi commented on the situation. “The news about Ansu Fati is that he needs three months from the day he was injured to recover,” he began, then lamented having to do without the striker.
“It’s bad news for us because he played better and understood our ideas better. I’m sorry on his behalf and on behalf of the team,” continued De Zerbi.
Thus, it will not be until March that Ansu Fati can play again and here he must find his form again. Therefore, it looks difficult to really get his career going again, which was the whole purpose of the rental stay in Brighton.
