Last night, Barca ended the autumn with a defeat, when the team had to see itself beaten by Club América. However, Lamine Yamal put in a great performance, although after the match he highlighted a point that he needs to improve in his game.
It has been a tough autumn season for Barca, who continue to struggle to make the game work on the pitch. However, the Catalans are still present in all competitions, even though they are currently seven points clear of Real Madrid and Girona at the top of La Liga.
However, after tonight’s exhibition match in Dallas against Club América, the squad can take a much-needed Christmas break. It turned out to be another half-hearted effort by Barca, who lost 3-2 to the Mexicans. The great talents Marc Guiu and Lamine Yamal could well be familiar with their efforts, as they scored a goal each in the match.
After the match, the 16-year-old Yamal took part in an interview with the sports media TUDN, where he said the following:
“It was a great game for both teams. It’s an honor to play here in front of all our Barca fans in the US. We’re happy to have had the opportunity,” said the teenager.
The winger subsequently praised the Mexican opponent, citing an area that he needs to improve in his game:
“Club América surprised me a lot. It’s a really good playing team. But I lost a few balls today and wasn’t good enough in our possession. It’s something that I have to improve,” stressed Yamal.
Finally, the Catalan was asked to comment on Rafael Márquez, coach of the second team, Barca Atlétic, and a great icon of Mexican football:
“Last season I had Rafa as my coach for a few matches for Atlétic and he was someone who supported me a lot” concluded the great talent.
