The other day it emerged that UEFA is considering punishing Barca for breaking the financial rules and that this could lead to exclusion from the Champions League. Now there are rumors that a decision will be made in February.
UEFA is apparently in doubt as to whether Barca complies with the financial rules adopted by the football organization and if it turns out that there are irregularities, a penalty will be imposed. It can range from an affordable fine to suspension from the Champions League for several seasons.
According to the newspaper Marca, Barca is not the only club that UEFA is investigating. A total of eight clubs were to be in the spotlight, among them PSG, Manchester City and AC Milan.
The newspaper also says that UEFA is expected to draw a conclusion during the month of February. Here it will be announced if some clubs have broken the rules.
In Barcelona, they allegedly take UEFA’s investigation with a high degree of calm, because all accounts have long since been approved by La Liga, and thus it does not seem realistic that something wrong should have happened.
