This summer, Barca sold 49% of the company Barca Vision to patch up the crisis-stricken economy, but one of the buyers still needs to pay 40 million euro. Now the club will reportedly go to court to get its money.
Barca Vision handles the club’s digital productions and the entire commercial part of the club’s audiovisual activities. This summer they sold 49% of the company for 200 million. euros to various investors, an amount that was well received in the depleted club coffers.
One of the buyers, German Libero, bought 10% for 40 million. euros, but Barca has not yet seen that money. The payment deadline was not until August 31, 2023, but then Barca agreed to wait until December 31.
The payment has not yet fallen and now the news agency EFE tells that Barca is ready to go to court in order to get its money, which has correctly already been recorded as income, but thus not received. Barca instead have a debt with Libero, which they are now going to court to collect,
The Libero has not commented on the reason they are not paying and Barca are also keeping the deal close to their body for confidentiality reasons. There is no doubt, however, that when Barca go to court it is because they see no other options to get that much money.
